Start with dinner

Every recipe, every bottle, every dinner — remembered.

One dinner, from the recipe to the last glass. Here's what Junior keeps along the way.

Had the lamb with Sam and Priya tonight. Two glasses of the Lacombe.

  1. 01 · The recipe

    Saved once, ready to cook

Paste a link or photograph a cookbook page and it becomes a recipe you can scale. Recipes get nutrition per serving, from the recipe's own label or estimated from its ingredients.

A recipe in Junior: slow-roasted lamb shoulder with white beans, the cookbook and page it came from, and buttons to add it to the calendar, edit or share it.
  2. 02 · The menu

Courses, in order, with the wine

Put dishes together as a menu, starter to dessert, with the bottle you're pouring. A menu goes on the calendar in one tap and has its own shopping list.

A menu in Junior called Saturday dinner: four courses and a bottle, the Lacombe opened an hour early, with the lamb shoulder pictured large and the other dishes beneath it.
  3. 03 · The bottle

    From your own cellar

Junior looks through the bottles you actually have for ones that go with what you're cooking, says why, and flags the ones to drink soon.

Wine from your cellar for Saturday dinner: a Côtes du Rhône whose fruit stands up to the lamb, marked drink by 2026, and the Lacombe Cellars Reserve Red 2018 that pairs well with lamb, each with an Open this with dinner button.
  4. 04 · The open bottle

    Open until it's finished

An opened bottle stays open across nights until you finish it, and only the glasses that were yours count as drinks.

An open bottle card for the Lacombe Cellars Reserve Red 2018: open since Sep 29 with about three glasses left, buttons to pour from it or finish it, and how many glasses were yours.
  5. 05 · The table

    Guests who answer

Invite people who use Junior. They get an email, see what's on the table and answer yes, maybe or no. Nothing goes on their calendar until they do.

Jordan's invitation to Saturday dinner at 7:30 PM, listing lamb shoulder with white beans, roast potatoes and pear tart, with Yes, Maybe and No buttons and a note that nothing goes on your calendar until you answer.
  6. 06 · The calendar

The whole dinner, on the day

The dinner sits on your calendar with everything on the table: the menu, each course and the wine.

A calendar event's On the table section: the Saturday dinner menu with its starter, the lamb shoulder and a side, and the Lacombe Cellars Reserve Red 2018.
  7. 07 · The numbers

What it all adds up to

Say you ate it and the calories, protein and the rest land in Health, with the glasses you poured counted as drinks.

A day in Health: calories in, out and the balance, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, sugar and sodium against goals, and Saturday dinner logged with what was on the plate.

That's level one.

Dinner is where most people start. The rest of Junior opens up as you use it.
